The Canada-US agreement on perimeter security released during the passage of Stephen Harper in Washington last week is neither more nor less than the integration of Canada into the security apparatus of the United States, without any protection for Canadians from abuses that may arise. This is pure and simple abandonment of Canadian standards of privacy protection.
