Since 2003, a secretive division of the CRA has been targeting Muslim charities for audits without transparency or outside accountability, all under the guise of “countering terrorist financing.”
Watch our presentation about how the CRA’s audits, and eventual revocations, are based on a faulty premise rooted in the profiling of Muslim and racialized communities, damaging the Muslim charitable sector and perpetuating systemic racism in national security.
The findings are part of a new report, “The CRA’s Prejudiced Audits: Counter-terrorism and Muslim Charities in Canada” from the International Civil Liberties Monitoring Group, and were presented by the report’s author and ICLMG National Coordinator Tim McSorley. Thank you to all who were able to attend the live event.
